The historian Dr. Richard Barbrook published his book “The Class of the New” in 2005 under a CC license. The book had a broad audience and was quite successful because of his criticism of the present discussion about the Creative Class. He argued that there has always has been a “creative class”. In all the different historical events from the beginning of industrialisation, to factory workers, to engineers and today’s creative class there was always a creative core group who was leading innovation and progressive change. In co-operation with Richard Barbrook and with the help of a professional translator I published his book in German under a CC license.
