Book: Leading Public Sector Innovation: Co-Creating for a Better Society
Public Service Innovation - new ideas that create value for society - is not new. But in a time of budget restrictions and less money to spend - a well thought trough and conscious process for public services innovation is needed.
A strategic approach and design thinking helps to solve problems for the public. One new approach developed by Christian Bason combines principles from the field of design and design thinking with the new methodologies developed by the Web2.0 generation and the co-creation of product and services.
Co-creation as a business strategy views markets as forums for firms and active customers to share, combine and renew each other's resources and capabilities to create value through new forms of interaction, service and learning mechanisms.
Christian who is a collegue at EDII (European Design Innovation Initiative) is a Researcher and CEO of MindLab. MindLab was founded by the Danish state and is a cross-ministerial innovation unit which involves citizens and businesses in developing new solutions for the public sector.
